Ladies Report:
What a fantastic day and result for the Gloucestershire Ladies. After so many close games and losing in the last leg from the previous county matches to finally winning a game and in spectacular style. A massive 32-12 result, again starting strong like we had in all our previous matches, we did not want to become complacent and think we had it in the bag and relax, our biggest mistake we have made in the past.
Our ladies kept up the pressure, from start to finish to ensure history did not repeat it self. Let this be the start of many more wins for the Gloucestershire ladies.
A Big well done to Jean, receiving Lady of the match, Warwickshire agreeing that her games were played tactically and well played. The whole day was enjoyed by both sides and it was a pleasure playing against a great team, the Warwickshire Ladies.

Gloucestershire County Pool Association have gained success from the 2012 season, in a tough region consisting of Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Northants and Wiltshire. The Gloucestershire County youth squad have qualified for National finals to take place in Great Yarmouth in March 2013, in their last game against Northants away, they needed a draw or win to secure qualification, in a close encounter against Northants at home earlier in the season, Glos winning 23-21, it was not going to be easy. Youth manager Shaun Jackson said "They are a good bunch and are confident but not over confident. They all showed that in winning at Northants 28-16. Yarmouth will be their first time there and playing against the best youth players in the country, but I'm confident they can do well, I know some parents and other Glos county players will be coming to Yarmouth to support them which is great, the parents and the county are proud of them all for what they have achieved and now the organisation starts, so when they get there, all they have to concentrate on is the matches they will play. Throughout January I will get them practicing, maybe have a match against our men's A Team and B Team". Youth players James Penn and Owen Bennet have been selected for England Youth Trials and Mike Clifford has also qualified for England U21's trials finishing Joint 3rd in the Regional Rankings along with Steve Bishop for the Seniors finishing 5th in the Regional Rankings and Dawn Zimbalatti qualified for the ladies England trials also finishing 5th in the Regional Rankings, Dawn having to win 4 from 4 in her last match against Northants to avoid the playoffs in order to secure trials, and succeeding in doing so. Also Rich Mallard from Glos County A team has qualified to play Premier league on the UK pool tour, Rich had to finish in the top 16 from 170+ players to achieve premier league. A successful season and hopeful for next season that starts in February. If any new youngsters or lady is interested in playing pool they can contact us on our website www.gloscountypool.org.uk
Mens A Report.
After a disappointing outing at Buckinghamshire we needed a response to give us a chance of making Yarmouth.
The side had a slightly new look to it with Jonny Coleman captaining the side and Ben Cuthbert being thrown into a first A team start.
